LORD ST. OSWALD

My Lords, before the House rises my noble friend the Leader of the House has asked me to correct something he said earlier today in reply to a supplementary question from noble Lord, Lord Ogmore, about the discretion in respect of immigration given to the High Commissioner for Basutoland, Bechuanaland Protectorate and Swaziland. This discretion will be exercised only in respect of Bechuanaland Protectorate and Swaziland, as my noble friend said in his original statement. In Basutoland, the constitutional position is different.
