HL Deb 12 April 1960 vol 222 c959

2.35 p.m.

LORD BARNBY

My Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government, with regard to Cuba and the almost daily reports of expropriation of alien property and without compensation, what is the extent to which this has yet occurred to British ownership assets.]

THE JOINT PARLIAMENTARY UNDER-SECRETARY OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS (THE MARQUESS OF LANSDOWNE)

My Lords, so far as I am aware, no British property in Cuba has been expropriated.
