EARL ST. ALDWYNMy Lords, in view of the number of speakers on the Street Offences Bill, and the fact that some noble Lords have been summoned to dine with Her Majesty the Queen this evening, I think it would be convenient if the House were to adjourn at 6.30 and, if necessary, to conclude the Second Reading of the Street Offences Bill on Monday next.
§ VISCOUNT ALEXANDER OF HILLSBOROUGHMy Lords, this has had to be arranged at very short notice, and it may cause one or two people inconvenience. I hope they will not mind. Officially, I am entirely in sympathy with the suggestion.
§ LORD SILKINMy Lords, I hope the noble Earl will not also take the further stages on Committee of the Town and Country Planning Bill on Monday. I had assumed that we should not be engaged on Monday, and it would be very difficult for me personally to be present.
