EARL ST. ALDWYNMy Lords, it has been agreed through the usual channels that the Committee stage of this Bill shall be continued on Monday next at two-thirty. The Second Reading of the Fatal Accidents Bill, in the name of the noble and learned Lord, Lord Birkett, will be taken as first Business. 858 you always infer from the circumstances that the person knew it was stolen, so this Amendment is designed to include the man who is aiding and abetting in this offence. It is morally wrong that there should be a difference, and the unfair discrimination between the sexes would be removed, if it could he done practically, if in this nuisance, admittedly grave, those who aid and abet and are accessories after or before the fact, could be brought before the court with the women. Supported as I am by my noble friend Lord Pakenham, and I hope by the most reverend Primate, I am afraid that I must go forward with the Amendment.
§ On Question, Whether the said Amendment shall be agreed to?
