HL Deb 25 March 1958 vol 208 c389

2.58 p.m.

LORD OGMORE

My Lords, I beg to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government where in Wales they intend that the new steel strip mills estimated to cost £200 million shall be erected.]

THE MINISTER OF POWER (LORD MILLS)

My Lords, I regret that I am not yet in a position to make any statement on the subject of an additional strip mill.

LORD OGMORE

My Lords, may I ask the noble Lord whether he expects to be in a position to do so in the near future, as this matter has now been going on for two years without a decision? Also, would he be good enough to let me know when he is in a position to do so, so that I may put down another Question?

LORD MILLS

My Lords, to answer the second part of the question first, I will gladly let my noble friend know when I am in a position to make any statement. I would rather not try to forecast when that will be.
