HL Deb 06 March 1958 vol 207 c1198

EARL HOWE

My Lords. I beg to ask the first Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether it is intended to complete the work of making the western end of the Western Avenue into a twin track road, as originally intended, and if so, when the work is to be commenced and completed.]

THE MINISTER WITHOUT PORTFOLIO (LORD MANCROFT)

My Lords, my right honourable friend the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation is considering the possibility of including in his programme the completion of the pre-war scheme for providing dual carriageways at the Denham end of Western Avenue but he cannot give a date yet.
