My Lords, I now beg to move Amendment No. 11, which deals with transitional provisions and is intended to provide for situations existing before this Bill becomes law.

Amendment moved—

Clause 11, page 2, line 32, at beginning insert— ("(1) Nothing in this Act affects the determination of the domicile of a person dying before its commencement. (2) Nothing in this Act affects the validity of any document executed or thing done before its commencement.")—(The Lord Chancellor.)

My Lords, This Amendment deals with the application of the Bill to Northern Ireland, and does so without abridging the legislative powers of the Northern Ireland Parliament. I beg to move.

Amendment moved— After Clause 11, insert the following new clause—

Provisions as to Northern Ireland

"12.—(1) This Act extends to Northern Ireland. (2) For the purposes of section six of the Government of Ireland Act, 1920 (which relates to the powers of the Parliament of Northern Ireland to make laws) section ten of this Act shall be deemed to be contained in an Act passed before the day appointed for the purposes of the said section six."—(The Lord Chancellor.)
