HL Deb 17 July 1958 vol 210 c1202

Read 3a (according to Order), with the Amendments.

Clause 6 [Modifications in enactments consequential on this Part of this Act and the Local Government Act, 1958]:

THE MINISTER OF STATE, SCOTTISH OFFICE (LORD STRATHCLYDE)

My Lords, I regret having to trouble your Lordships at this stage with a small Amendment to this Bill. It is purely a drafting Amendment. It is an economy in the use of words; it deletes three lines of print and substitutes five words which mean exactly the same thing. I beg to move.

Amendment moved—

Page 5, line 15, leave out lines 15 to 17 and insert (the Local Government Act. 1958.")—(Lord Strathclyde.)

On Question, Amendment agreed to.

Bill passed, and returned to the Commons.
