HL Deb 08 May 1957 vol 203 cc543-4

8.54 p.m.

THE EARL OF ONSLOW

My Lords, before the House adjourns, perhaps it will be convenient to your Lordships if I make the following announcement. It has been arranged through the usual channels that we shall not now ask the House to meet on Monday next to open the Committee stage of the Rent Bill. We understand that we may expect the co-operation of the Opposition in concluding that stage of this Bill on Tuesday evening, even though we do not begin it till that afternoon at 2.30. It may be necessary to ask your Lordships to sit late and have a dinner adjournment, in the same way as we did so successfully last night.
