HL Deb 14 March 1957 vol 202 c566
THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY

My Lords, I beg to move the Motion standing in my name.

Moved, That Standing Order No. 41 be considered in order to its being dispensed with for the purpose of passing the Rating and Valuation Bill through its remaining stages.—(The Marquess of Salisbury.)

VISCOUNT ALEXANDER OF HILLSBOROUGH

My Lords, we are very glad to accede to this Motion on this particular request. I am not at all sure whether it may not sometimes prove to be a valuable precedent, whatever Government is in office—and it is important to remember that. At the same time, I should like to place on record that I do not think it is the kind of thing we ought to have to revert to very often.

On Question, Motion agreed to, and ordered accordingly.
