HL Deb 26 June 1957 vol 204 c362
LORD ANIMON

My Lords, I beg to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether any statement can be made as to the result of the discussions with foreign Governments concerned, with a view to making satisfactory arrangements for the treatment of British cattle, especially with reference to paragraph 3 of the Summary of Recommendations in the Report of the Committee of Inquiry.]

THE JOINT PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY, MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE, FISHERIES AND FOOD (EARL ST. ALDWYN)

My Lords, this matter has been considered by a working party of experts drawn from the principal countries concerned. The working party's conclusions are now before the Council of Western European Union, and my right honourable friend hopes to be in a position to make a statement early next week.
