§ 2.45 p.m.
§ LORD AMMONMy Lords, I beg to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.
§ [The Question was as follows:
§ To ask Her Majesty's Government whether attention has been called to the misleading advertisement and announcements issued by the South Eastern Gas Board as to dates of summer gas coke prices.]
§ LORD MILLSMy Lords, I am in correspondence with the noble Lord about this matter. This is the first year in which there has been a summer price scheme for gas coke. In general, the scheme has operated satisfactorily, but I fully appreciate the noble Lord's concern about the wording of these advertisements, and I am looking into the matter, in order to ensure that the difficulty to which he has drawn my attention does not arise in the future.
§ LORD AMMONMy Lords, I thank the noble Lord for his reply. I hope he will have it made clear that the date fixed is the date when delivery is made.
