THE LORD PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL (THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY)

My Lords, I beg to move the Amendments on the Order Paper standing in my name. With the approval of your Lordships, I would propose to move them together. They are all consequential on recommendations in the Report of the Procedure Committee which was approved by the House last week. I beg to move.

Moved, That the following Amendments be made to the Standing Orders on Public Business:— Standing Order No. 46, in paragraph 2, leave out ("three-minute") and insert ("four-minute"); and leave out ("three minutes") and insert ("four minutes") Standing Order No. 50, line 1, leave out ("a") and insert ("any"), leave out ("upon any stage of a Bill") Standing Order No. 63, last line of paragraph 2, leave out ("and the Committee for Privileges is to be appointed") Standing Order No. 63, last line of paragraph 3, leave out ("and the Committee for Privileges appointed") Standing Order No. 65, line 1, leave out ("All the Lords who come to any Committee for Privileges shall be of that Committee, but") and insert ("A Committee for Privileges shall be appointed at the beginning of every Session; sixteen Lords shall be named of the Committee, together with any four Lords of Appeal;") Standing Order No. 65, line 4, leave out ("or more") Leave out Standing Order No. 66.—(The Marquess of Salisbury.)
