My Lords, I rise for a moment, before we start the Business of the day, to inform your Lordships, because the notice is necessarily short if the appointment is to be made, as it should be, before the Christmas Recess, that my noble friend the Leader of the House is putting down a Motion, for consideration to-morrow, proposing that the noble Lord, Lord Merthyr, should be appointed Chairman of Committees in place of the late Lord Drogheda.
