My Lords, I wonder whether the noble Earl, the Chief Whip could tell us whether it is proposed to have a statement, and, if so, when would be a great convenience to know.

My Lords, in reply to the noble Lord, may I say that I understood that a statement was to be here at four o'clock, but it is evident that the Prime Minister is not yet ready with it.
