§ Order of the Day for the Third Reading read.
§ LORD CLITHEROEMy Lords, this small Bill was welcomed in all quarters of your Lordships' House and I therefore hope that it will receive an unopposed Third Reading this afternoon. It is, I think, very much in the public interest. The Bill eases a little the position of widows and retired pensioners whose circumstances still allow them to earn a little money. The Bill provides for altering the extent to which deductions from their benefits are made in respect of their earnings. I beg to move.
§ Moved, That the Bill be now read 3ª.—(Lord Clitheroe.)
§ On Question, Bill read 3ª, and passed.
