HL Deb 30 July 1956 vol 199 c360
LORD SILKIN

My Lords, I beg leave to ask Her Majesty's Government a Question, of which I have given Private Notice. The Question is as follows: Have Her Majesty's Government any statement to make on the situation in Egypt?

THE LORD PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL (THE MARQUESS OF SALIS BURY)

My Lords, if the noble Lord will allow me, I think it would be better if I delayed that statement until a similar one is made in another place. I shall be very happy to answer his Question at that time.

LORD SILKIN: It will be to-day?

THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY

Yes, my Lords—I hope in about an hour's or an hour-and-a-half's time.
