HL Deb 24 July 1956 vol 199 c98
'THE JOINT PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY, MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE, FISHERIES AND FOOD (EARL ST. ALDWYN)

My Lords, this is the Order which we have to make each year to extend for another year the operation of the various Orders which have been made under Section 4 of the Agriculture Act, 1947. The guarantee arrangements for all the commodities which qualify for guaranteed prices under Part I of the Agriculture Act (with the exception of sugar beet) are now authorised by these Orders, so it is clearly essential that they should be kept in force. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Agriculture Act (Part I) Extension of Period Order, 1956, reported from the Special Orders Committee on Wednesday last, be approved.—(Earl St. Aldwyn.)
