HL Deb 03 November 1955 vol 194 cc281-2

3.6 p.m.

EARL FORTESCUE

My Lords, I have a short statement to make. My noble friend Lord Swinton has tabled an important Motion on the organisation of the Service Departments for Tuesday next, and many of your Lordships have signified your intention to speak in that debate. It has therefore been agreed, through the usual channels, that we shall take that debate until about 7 p.m. on Tuesday next and continue it the next clay. I think this will be for the convenience of all concerned. We hope that this debate will be concluded by about 4 p.m. on Wednesday, so that the Motion of the noble Earl, Lord Listowel, on Post Office development and finance can be taken afterwards.
