Order of the Day read for the consideration of the Commons Message of yesterday—namely, That they have appointed a Committee consisting of seven Members to join with a Committee of this House to consider what alterations, if any, are desirable in the practice and the Standing Orders of the two Houses relating to Private Legislation, having special regard to the desirability of lessening the expense at present incurred, and request this House to appoint an equal number of Lords to be joined with the Members of their House.

My Lords, I beg to move the Motion standing in my name, that a Committee of seven Lords be appointed to join with the Committee of the Commons as a Joint Committee on Private Bill Procedure, and that the Lords named on the Order Paper be of the Committee.
