HL Deb 20 December 1955 vol 195 cc338-9
THE JOINT PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY, MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE, FISHERIES AND FOOD (EARL ST. ALDWYN)

My Lords, this is the fourth scheme to be made under Section 13 of the Coastal Flooding (Emergency Provisions) Act, 1953. Its object is the same as that of the other schemes—to give financial help for the rehabilitation of land which was damaged by salt water as a result of the East Coast floods in January, 1953. This scheme is identical with the last one, except that the rates of payment set out in the First Schedule are being varied slightly in detail as the land gradually recovers. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Coastal Flooding (Acreage Payments) Scheme, 1956, reported from the Special Orders Committee on Wednesday last, be approved.—(Earl St. Aldwyn.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
