HL Deb 05 April 1955 vol 192 c280

Brought from the Commons.

EARL FORTESCUE

My Lords, I beg to move that this Bill be read a first time.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 1a.—(Earl Fortescue.)

EARL JOWITT

My Lords, it is unusual to say anything on an application for First Reading, but I should like to ask a question, in which I think I speak for many noble Lords. Having never myself seen a horror comic, I should like to know whether it would be possible to put specimens in the Library of the House—as I believe was done in another place—in order that we may see what we are dealing with.

EARL FORTESCUE

The answer to the noble and learned Earl is, Yes.

On Question, Bill read 1a, and to be printed.
