Second Schedule, page 31, line 34, at end insert—

("Section 11 In subsection (1), for the words "The foregoing provisions relating to unsound food," there shall be substituted the words "The last two foregoing sections.

Section 12 For the words "an authorised officer of a local authority," there shall be substituted the words "an authorised officer of a council".")

VISCOUNT WOOLTON

My Lords, Section 11 of the 1938 Act applies the provision of Sections 9 and 10 dealing with unsound food to food given away as prizes or free samples. This Amendment to Section 11 is a drafting Amendment to make it clear that only Sections 9 and 10 relating to unsound food are applied by Section 11. The Amendment to Section 12 is consequential. I beg to move.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(Viscount Woolton.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
