HL Deb 22 November 1954 vol 189 c1688

Clause 5, page 5, line 22, after ("six") insert ("but subject to the next following subsection,").

VISCOUNT WOOLTON

My Lords, this and the next Amendment are simple in essence but complicated in the number of consequential Amendments that follow. I do not know whether this is going to be quite clear.

EARL JOWITT

I should put them as consequential when you come to the Amendments.

VISCOUNT WOOLTON

I will say that there are a number of consequential Amendments which I will move when the time comes, but I will speak to them now.

EARL JOWITT

We are not going to oppose these.

VISCOUNT WOOLTON

Does the noble and learned Earl mean that he will accept them without my making a speech?

EARL JOWITT

Yes.

VISCOUNT WOOLTON

Then, I beg to move that the House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(Viscount Woolton.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
