THE LORD CHANCELLOR (LORD SIMONDS)My Lords, I have to acquaint the House that the Clerk of the Parliaments has received a letter from Mr. Justice Ormerod stating that Lord Montagu of Beaulieu, a Member of this House, was on the 24th March convicted at the Hampshire Winter Assize of certain criminal offences and was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of twelve months.
