HL Deb 30 March 1954 vol 186 c775
VISCOUNT ALEXANDER OF HILLSBOROUGH

My Lords, may I, with your permission, ask the noble Marquess the Leader of the House whether he can give us any idea as to whether the Bills which have just been introduced and given a First Reading are to be taken before Easter?

THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY

My Lords, I am afraid that I cannot give any very definite information on that point, but I think it probable that the Judges' Remuneration Bill will be taken before Easter. So far as I know that is so.

VISCOUNT ALEXANDER OF HILLSBOROUGH

Will the Agriculture (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill not be taken?

THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY

I am now informed that that Bill will also be taken, in all probability, before Easter. I understand that the Second Reading has been provisionally fixed for Thursday week.

VISCOUNT ALEXANDER OF HILLSBOROUGH

Perhaps we had better discuss this through the usual channels.
