§ Order of the Day read for the consideration of the Commons Message of Tuesday, June 22: That they have appointed a Committee consisting of seven Members to join with a Committee of this House to consider what alterations, if any, are desirable in the practice and the Standing Orders of the two Houses relating to Private Legislation, having special regard to the desirability of lessening the expense at present incurred, and request this House to appoint an equal number of Lords to be joined with the Members of their House.

THE EARL OF DROGHEDAMy Lords, I beg to move that a Committee of Seven Lords be appointed to join with the Committee of the Commons as a Joint Committee on Private Bill Procedure, and that the following Lords 35 be named of the Committee:—Lord Derwent, Lord Hindlip, Lord Merthyr, Lord Rea, Lord Belstead, Lord Latham and Lord Milner of Leeds.
