HL Deb 01 June 1954 vol 187 c1028
LORD VANSITTART

My Lords, I beg to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they contemplate any measures to prevent further interference by the Communist Government of Guatemala in British Honduras.]

THE PAYMASTER GENERAL (THE EARL OF SELKIRK)

My Lords, when the occasion has arisen Her Majesty's Government have always made it clear that they will not permit any interference by the Guatemalan Government in British Honduras. No action is contemplated at present, but if the noble Lord, Lord Vansittart, has in mind any particular instance of interference I should be very happy to have details.
