THE JOINT PARLIAMENTARY UNDER-SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE HOME DEPARTMENT (LORD LLOYD)

My Lords, I beg leave to introduce a Bill to provide for the training in Civil Defence of persons serving terms of part-time service under the National Service Act, 1948, and other members of the Armed Forces of the Crown, and to remove doubts as to the Civil Defence functions of members of those Forces; and for purposes connected with the matters aforesaid. I beg to move that this Bill be read a first time.
