HL Deb 21 July 1954 vol 188 c1243
THE CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES (THE EARL OF DROGHEDA)

My Lords, I beg to move that this Bill be read a third time.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 3a.—(The Earl of Drogheda.)

On Question, Bill read 3a, with the Amendments.

THE EARL OF DROGHEDA

My Lords, the promoters of the Bill wish to make a number of further Amendments. They are, I can assure your Lordships, all drafting Amendments, with the exception of three. Of those three Amendments, two are required in order to give effect to provisions which were agreed between the promoters and the parties concerned but which, owing to a mistake, have not hitherto been inserted in the Bill. The third Amendment is needed to bring the Bill into line with the Slaughterhouses Act, which received the Royal Assent on July 5. I beg to move that the Amendments be agreed to.

Moved, That the Amendments be agreed to.—(The Earl of Drogheda.)

On Question, Amendments agreed to.

Bill passed, and returned to the Commons.
