HL Deb 20 May 1953 vol 182 c653

Read 2a.

THE CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES (THE EARL OF DROGHEDA)

My Lords, I beg to move that Standing Order 169 relating to Private Bills be dispensed with in respect of this Bill. I should explain that the effect of Order 169 is that all trustees concerned with personal estate must be personally present when the Committee stage of the Bill is taken. There are twenty trustees involved in this Bill, and it really would not be practicable to get them all together on the same day. Therefore, I beg to move.

Moved, That Standing Order 169 be considered in order to its being dispensed with in respect of the said Bill.—(The Earl of Drogheda.)

On Question, Motion agreed to, and ordered accordingly.
