Order of the Day for the consideration of the Report from the Committee for Privileges read.

The Committee's Report was as follows:

That:

  1. 1. the dignities of Earl of Dundee and Lord Inverkeithing were created by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of Scotland, dated September 8, 1660, in favour of John 3rd Viscount of Dudhope with limitation to his heirs male whomsoever;
  2. 2. the Claimant Henry James, Viscount of Dudhope, Lord Scrymgeour, is the heir male of the said Patentee and is now entitled of right to the dignities of Earl of Dundee and Lord Inverkeithing.

The effect of the Report is that Lord Dudhope is entitled to the dignities of the Earl of Dundee and Lord Inverkeithing. I beg to move that the Report be agreed to.
