THE MINISTER OF STATE, FOREIGN OFFICE, (THE MARQUESS OF READING)

My Lords, by leave of the House, may I make a very small correction to an answer to a question which was put to me yesterday? In replying to a supplementary question by the noble Lord, Lord Boyd-Orr, on a Question put by the noble Viscount, Lord Elibank, I said that Japan was a member only of the China Committee of the Consultative Group. It is not always easy to remember at short notice what countries are members of these different bodies and what are not. In fact, Japan is a member not only of the China Committee but of the Group as a whole. I should like to take this opportunity of putting my earlier statement right.
