HL Deb 07 May 1952 vol 176 c661
LORD MERTHYR

My Lords, I beg to ask the first Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether a decision has yet been reached as to the payment of compensation to part-time justices' clerks who may lose their employment in consequence of the passing of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1949.]

THE LORD CHANCELLOR (LORD SIMONDS)

My Lords, this difficult question is at present under close consideration by Her Majesty's Government, and I hope that a decision will soon be reached.
