§ 2.36 p.m.
§ THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR COMMONWEALTH RELATIONS (THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY)My Lords, before we proceed with the Business of the day, I have an announcement which I wish to make to your Lordships. The Prime Minister will be making a statement in another place this afternoon on the visit of the Prime Minister of Australia to this country, and I feel that this House too would wish to hear the statement. I therefore propose, by leave of the House, to interrupt the debate at about 3.45 this afternoon to enable the statement to be made. I hope that that course will meet with the approval of the House.
