HL Deb 17 June 1952 vol 177 c193

2.36 p.m.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR COMMONWEALTH RELATIONS (THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY)

My Lords, before we proceed with the Business of the day, I have an announcement which I wish to make to your Lordships. The Prime Minister will be making a statement in another place this afternoon on the visit of the Prime Minister of Australia to this country, and I feel that this House too would wish to hear the statement. I therefore propose, by leave of the House, to interrupt the debate at about 3.45 this afternoon to enable the statement to be made. I hope that that course will meet with the approval of the House.
