HL Deb 30 July 1952 vol 178 cc489-90

5.36 p.m.

THE EARL OF DROGHEDA

My Lords, I am sorry to have to detain the House for a moment longer, especially as it is entirely my fault, in regard to the Third Reading of the Essex County Council Bill earlier this afternoon. I ought to have moved some Amendments. I ought to add, too, that I have no excuse at all. So, with your Lordships' permission, I now have to ask the House to deal with the Amendments to the Bill. But first I beg to move that the proceedings on the Third Reading of the Bill this day be vacated.

Moved, That the proceedings on Third Reading of the Bill this day be vacated.—(The Earl of Drogheda.)

On Question, Motion agreed to, and ordered accordingly.

THE EARL OF DROGHEDA

My Lords, I beg to move that the Bill be now read a third time.

Moved accordingly and, on Question, Bill read 3a, with the Amendments; further Amendments made; Bill passed, and returned to the Commons.
