§ LORD CARRINGTONMy Lords, this is the first scheme to be made under the Agriculture Ploughing Act, 1952, which passed through your Lordships' House a short time ago It gives effect to the original announcement made by my right honourable friend the Minister of Agriculture on February 4 last, that a grant of £5 an acre would be paid on four-year grassland ploughed up last spring and sown to approved crops. The scheme covers England and Wales. I beg to move.
