HL Deb 02 April 1952 vol 175 c1287

2.36 p.m.

LORD HAWKE

My Lords, I beg to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government what reductions have been made and are contemplated in the Whitehall car pool since November, 1951.]

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR COMMON WEALTH RELATIONS (THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY)

My Lords, since November, 1951, the strength of the official car service in London has been reduced by six cars. Further economies are contemplated, but it is not possible at present to indicate the precise number. For further details, I should like to refer the noble Lord to the answer which was given yesterday in another place by my right honourable friend, the Prime Minister.
