THE EARL OF SELBORNE

My Lords, I thank the noble Earl for his reply, and I beg to ask the second Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask His Majesty's Government whether they can state the total net cost to the State of the Forestry Commission since its inception in 1919.]

THE EARL OF LISTOWEL

My Lords, the total net payments made from the Forestry Fund since its inception in 1919 until September 30, 1950, amounted to £34,057,452.

THE EARL OF SELBORNE

I am much obliged to the noble Earl.
