HL Deb 26 June 1951 vol 172 c303

2.48 p.m.

LORD KERSHAW

My Lords, I beg to move that the Workmen's Compensation (Supplementation) Scheme, 1951, reported from the Special Orders Committee on Wednesday, the 13th instant, be approved. Your Lordships will remember that the Act under which this scheme was made was discussed in your Lordships' House on May 8, when the whole of the provisions were fully dealt with and warmly welcomed in all parts of the House. The only serious criticism came from the noble Marquess, Lord Reading, who objected to the word "supplementation" Apart from that, I am sure your Lordships will approve the scheme. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Workmen's Compensation (Supplementation) Scheme, 1951, reported from the Special Orders Committee on Wednesday, the 13th instant, be approved.—(Lord Kershaw.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
