THE LORD CHANCELLOR (VISCOUNT JOWITT)

My Lords, I have duly conveyed the message which your Lordships were kind enough to authorise me to convey to my noble friend the Leader of the House on the occasion of his eighty-second birthday, and he has asked me to say—and I use his own words: I am deeply moved by the support which was received from the leaders of all Parties and I hope it may be possible that my heartfelt thanks for this act of kindness may be placed on record. All that it remains for me to add is that it seems that Lord Addison is making very good progress.
