My Lords, I beg to ask the first Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask His Majesty's Government whether they will now make known the terms of the offer in regard to the Suez Canal apparently rejected by the Egyptian Government.]

My Lords, I have nothing to add to the statement which I made in reply to the noble Lord's Question on April 25. The arrangement that neither Government should comment at present on the substance of the present negotiations still holds good.
