§ LORD VANSITTARTMy Lords, I beg to ask the first Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.
§ [The Question was as follows:
§ To ask His Majesty's Government whether they will now make known the terms of the offer in regard to the Suez Canal apparently rejected by the Egyptian Government.]
§ THE PARLIAMENTARY UNDERSECRETARY OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS (LORD HENDERSON)My Lords, I have nothing to add to the statement which I made in reply to the noble Lord's Question on April 25. The arrangement that neither Government should comment at present on the substance of the present negotiations still holds good.
