HL Deb 31 July 1951 vol 173 c25

2.39 p.m.

EARL DE LA WARR

My Lords, I beg to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask His Majesty's Government whether they intend to take any steps to bring up to date the law relating to agricultural co-operative societies.]

THE EARL OF LISTOWEL

My Lords, the Government do not at present contemplate any legislation relating specifically to agricultural co-operative societies. They hope, however, to introduce a Bill early next Session to amend the law relating to industrial and provident societies, which include agricultural co-operative societies.

EARL DE LA WARR

I am obliged to the noble Earl.
