HL Deb 23 November 1950 vol 169 c474

Order of the Day for the Second Reading read.

My Lords, in the absence of my noble friend the Minister of Civil Aviation, who is receiving the Crown Prince of the Netherlands at London Airport, I beg to move that this Bill be now read a second time. I understand that the Second Reading of this form of Bill is not usually the subject of a speech by the mover. Therefore, with your Lordships' permission, I will straight away move that it be read a second time. However, if any member of your Lord-ships' House has any point that he would like to raise, I will do my best to deal with it.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a —(Lord Kershaw.)

On Question, Bill read 2a and committed to a Commit tie of the Whole House.
