§ THE EARL OF LUCANMy Lords, on behalf of my noble and learned friend the Lord Chancellor, who is absent in Scotland fulfilling an important engagement of long standing, I beg leave to introduce a Bill to consolidate the enactments relating to the adoption of children with such corrections and improvements as may be authorised under the Consolidation of Enactments (Procedure) Act, 1949; and to move that the Bill be read a first time.
