HL Deb 04 May 1950 vol 167 c133

4.6 p.m.

THE LORD CHANCELLOR (VISCOUNT JOWITT)

My Lords, may I correct a figure which appeared in the Hansard report of yesterday's debate on the Police Forces? I said that on March 31, 1950, there were 297 houses under construction by the police authorities, all of which would be completed within the course of the year. I was then made to say that I had ascertained that 547 houses would be completed by next month. The figure 547 is obviously not a part of 297. The right figure of the number to be completed by next month is 50, and that is the figure I should have mentioned. I desire to make that correction, because otherwise there might be misapprehension.
