§ 2.36 p.m.
§ LORD SHEPHERDMy Lords, on behalf of my noble friend the Leader of the House, I beg to move the Motion standing in his name on the Order Paper.
§ Moved, That Standing Order No. XXI be considered in order to its being dispensed with for the purpose of giving the Motion of the Lord Teynham for the annulment of the Coal Industry Nationalisation (Superannuation) Regulations, 1950, precedence over the other Notices and Orders of the Day on Tuesday next.—(Lord Shepherd.)
§ THE LORD CHANCELLOR (VISCOUNT JOWITT)My Lords, before I put this Motion, I should like to extend my thanks to my noble friend Lord Teynham. It was entirely to meet my convenience that the noble Lord granted the concession for which I asked. As we have this matter of the police to debate to-day, I was anxious not to have the other Motion also on the Order Paper for to-day. The noble Lord kindly acquiesced.
§ On Question, Motion agreed to, and ordered accordingly.
