HL Deb 29 June 1950 vol 167 c1300
THE EARL OF SELKIRK

had given Notice that he would call attention to the development of land settlement in Scotland, with special reference to the Highlands; and to move for Papers. The noble Earl said: My Lords, I beg leave not to move the Motion which stands in my name on the Paper but to adjourn it, if I may, and ask for it to be put down for July 20 next.

THE PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY, MINISTRY OF WORKS (LORD MORRISON)

My Lords, I entirely agree with the noble Earl, Lord Selkirk. Perhaps the House will allow me to say, in one sentence, that the Government are publishing to-morrow a White Paper on the Highland Development programme, dealing with many aspects of the Highland problem. Probably it will be useful to consider that between now and the adjourned debate.
