HL Deb 12 December 1950 vol 169 c916

6.1 p.m.

LORD SHEPHERD

My Lords, before the House adjourns, I should like with your permission to make a brief statement regarding business. Your Lordships will remember that the noble Marquess, the Leader of the Opposition, put a question to the noble Viscount the Leader of the House about a debate on foreign affairs. I am happy to say that it has now been agreed through the usual channels that this debate shall take place on Thursday. The time of meeting will be at 2.30 p.m., and not at four o'clock as is usually the case on that day. The Motion of the noble Lord, Lord Hawke, which is down on the Order Paper for that day, will be postponed. I should like to say a word about the Administration of Justice (Pensions) Bill. It is urgent that this Bill should be passed through all its stages before the Recess and it has been agreed that it shall be taken to-morrow as the first business and passed through all its stages. If we have the co-operation of your Lordships in that matter, a good purpose will be served.

House adjourned at three minutes past six o'clock.
