HL Deb 19 April 1950 vol 166 c967

2.35 p.m.

EARL HOWE had the following Question on the Order Paper: To ask His Majesty's Government whether the British Treasury experts estimated that as a result of derationing of petrol the cost might reach 8,000,000 dollars per annum. If so, whether their attention had been drawn to the fact, and to the remarks of the Federal Treasurer. The noble Earl said: My Lords, I beg leave to postpone my Question, but I should like to ask when it would be convenient for me to repeat it.

THE MINISTER OF CIVIL AVIATION (LORD PAKENHAM)

My Lords, I am grateful to the noble Earl for the attitude which he has adopted.

EARL HOWE

I am afraid that that does not answer my question.

LORD PAKENHAM

I will make sure that the noble Earl has an answer as soon as possible.
